The Daily Derenger

I went to a bar the other night in Rockford, Illinois. It was a Tuesday night so not much was happening in the town.

This bar had open-jam for local bands and was set up really cool. It used to be a department store so there were two levels. You could be on the second level while still watching the band below. It had kind of a cellar-like, grunge feel to it.

Behind the bar was a guy tending bar. He was right on top of the drinks and taking care of the customers.

What I found interesting was that he was doing all kinds of tricks with the glasses and drinks, tossing the bottles in the air and catching them on top of his hand. Now I get that it was impressive. But come one, just give me my fuckin' drink. If I wanted to see tricks, I'd go to a circus or a magic show. A Jack and Coke or a Budweiser doesn't involve spinning anything. Your tip won't be reflective of your clown-like work. I'm looking for a buzz not a show, Bozo.

These computer things suck. I have written in my journal a few times but they're not posting on my site. Oh well.
